    Toyota establishes fuel cell joint venture with Chinese OEM

    Toyota is establishing a joint venture in China with FAW, Dongfeng, GAC, BAIC and SinoHytec for the joint development of fuel cell systems for commercial vehicles. However, the Japanese will hold the majority in the joint venture called United Fuel Cell System R&D (FCRD).


    As Toyota wrote in a statement, 65 percent of the FCRD stake will be held by the Toyota Motor Company. The Chinese hydrogen specialist SinoHytec will hold 15 percent, the four car companies each five percent....

    Toyota plans to launch battery-electric versions of the Proace and Proace City in 2020 and 2021, respectively, with well-known PSA technology. But there is a difference to the tripods from PSA.
