    Stadtreinigung Hamburg purchases Nissan e-vansStadtreinigung Hamburg (SRH) has expanded its electric commercial vehicle fleet by six Nissan e-NV200s. Nine more copies of the e-van will follow in the next few weeks and another ten by the end of the year.

    According to the city cleaning service, the vehicles of the Japanese manufacturer will mainly be used in park cleaning and with the SRH carers. They are stationed on the depot at Bullerdeich. The now floated-in vehicles are not the well-known transporter version of the e-NV200, but a conversion with a special body instead of the usual loading space.

    Hamburg's municipal cleaning company has been active in the development towards electric mobility for eleven years: the municipal company purchased the first electric vehicles in summer 2009. The SRH electric fleet has now grown to around 100 vehicles. In the passenger car and van category under 3.5 tons, almost half of the stock is already electrified. Further electrical reinforcement is already being planned.

    Notable acquisitions include two special electric cranes that were funded in early 2019 as part of the “Clean Air” immediate program. In addition, the Hamburg-based Volvos have taken over the demonstration vehicle from the FL Electric distribution truck - with a body for the waste disposal of Faun. After all, city cleaning is also a pioneer when it comes to testing electrically assisted cargo bikes: as part of the TRASHH research project , the company tested ten specimens and had their use scientifically examined by DLR.
