Polestar appoints plugsurfing as charging partnerPolestar is partnering with Plugsurfing to offer its customers access to the 195,000 charging points on the Plugsurfing network. This should make public charging in Europe easier across national borders.

Every Polestar 2 is delivered with an RFID tag from Plugsurfing as standard, as the Volvo subsidiary wrote in a message. The plugsurfing account as a payment and authentication solution is intended to give customers quick access to the various charging station operators that are bundled in the plugsurfing range.

In addition to the cooperation with the Berlin company, Polestar is planning further offers. "This international European agreement with plugsurfing is only the beginning and paves the way for further partnerships, which should also include national and local solutions in the future," said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath in the announcement. However, the manager does not go into details.

First of all, plugsurfing. For this purpose, customers should be informed more precisely about the offer. “To enable Polestar owners to charge their vehicle effortlessly, they will receive more information about the charging network and the use of the plug-surfing solution when they deliver their Polestar 2,” says the company. The Swedes did not mention whether the deal with plugsurfing also included special conditions for Polestar drivers.

Plugsurfing mentioned in its communication that "Plugsurfing Plus" should be offered as an additional service in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. The monthly subscription offers fixed prices for charging on AC and DC columns. According to the plugsurfing website, the service in Germany costs 19.99 euros per month and then 0.34 euros per kilowatt hour, also on ionity columns. It is also not mentioned in the notification whether other conditions apply to Polestar customers.
